Plumpton College Wine Division is pleased to host this masterclass led by Diego Tomasi, and Sarah Abbott MW.
The session will explore the latest research on the impact of soil types and viticultural practices on the quality and style of Prosecco Superiore. The session will include a tasting of 12 wines that exemplify the research findings. We will also explore how producers in Conegliano Valdobbiadene refine the Martinotti (Charmat) method of sparkling wine production to create top quality sparkling wine of diverse styles and distinctive personalities.
This event is held in partnership with Plumpton College wine division, and is open to Plumpton College wine students and invited wine industry guests.
Diego Tomasi was a Researcher of Viticulture for thirty years before taking up the position of Director at the Consorzio of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore last year. Sarah Abbott is a UK-based Master of Wine, director of strategic marketing firm Swirl Wine Group, and specialist on the wines of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG.
This presentation will be video recorded and published online after the event, for on-demand viewing. The focus of the videographer will be the speakers but the audience may be filmed in the background, or during questions.
