The Old Vine Conference wine trade & media tasting

ONE OF THE LARGEST TASTINGS OF OLD VINE WINES FROM AROUND THE WORLD

The Old Vine Conference is changing the path for old vines and their wines and in its first 3 years has contributed exponentially to the awareness, understanding and support of the global old vine movement. The Old Vine Conference Trade & Media tasting is expected to be the largest tasting of old vine wines from around the world; with over 100 wines on show from Argentina to Austria, Italy to Romania, Spain to South Africa and many more. Highlights so far include:

* A special selection of certified old vine wines from industry pioneers The Old Vine Project in South Africa. The line-up includes Stellenbosch wine estate Simonsig's 2022 barrel-fermented Chenin Blanc, their first wine to gain official Old Vine status.

* The chance to discover more about the finalists of the Old Vine Hero Awards 2024 through a tasting of wines representing the inspiring work and projects they're working on

* A mini vertical tasting of Van Zellers & Co's CV Curriculum Vitae Douro white 2018, 2019 and 2021 vintages and explore the importance of old vines in maintaining freshness in wines from warmer climates

* Michael Zehe of Velis Vineyards will debut his Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon from abandoned vineyards he has recovered and restored in the Western Thracian Valley, Bulgaria

* Medal winning wines from the IWSC Old Vine Wine category

* Meet the team from Wine Scholar Guild

* Winemakers present at the tasting include:
> Dr Enno Lippold of Germany will be pouring his wine: Domaine Dr. Lippold Ürziger Würzgarten-Weltersberg Riesling Auslese 2017, Mosel

> Patricia V. Mendoza, Co-Owner and Head Oenologist/Winemaker of Bodega Yokich in Valle de Cinti, Bolivia will be pouring her Moscatel de Alejandría and Misionera/Negrita Criolla
